Jaws Invades Coney Island! All Star Team Announced
Jul 05

Hello Friends, I trust you all are having a safe and spectacular start to your holiday weekend.  I know that I celebrated to the best of my abilities.

Back to the same old same old.

I spent my Independence Day doing what every red blooded American should have done; watch baseball, drink beer, and BBQ.  Of course I had the pleasure of watching the fireworks from the palatial  CJ pad in Mesa.  But one thing left me thinking, how can a team with so much talent shock us with the greatest comeback of the season only to lay an egg the very next day to a much weaker team.  I don’t have the answers and I trust that not even a big bat is going to help this team.  They need bullpen help in the worst way.

Baseball, like many sports, is very cyclical.  A team can be hot one week and be down the next.  For this reason I believe that the Backs can snap out of it, and I believe that the Rays are a wild card team at best.  The Diamondbacks bats will wake up, that I am sure of.  Upton has so much talent, and Young can smack the hell out of the ball.  With Conor Jackson and Chad Tracey showing signs of improvement off of last year, i think that offense is not necessarily the problem.  Granted a big bat would be greatly welcomed and I feel that Josh Byrnes should not consider it as an option.  What the Backs need is strong middle relief.  Lyon has not been the problem it has been the pitchers leading up to him.  Strong middle relief will keep this team in games, and I believe help instill some much needed confidence in the batters.  Because when the batters don’t feel all the pressure that is when you are going to see the fireworks.
Have a safe weekend, and make sure you check back later in the week for the Palm Tree Perspective.
