For all of those Suns fans, who have labored and waited since 1968, FINALLY there is hope on the Horizon for yours/mine/our Phoenix Suns.

Shaq makes his debut in a Suns uniform tonight against the his old team, the Lakers,  and his fomer buddy Kolbe Bryant. 

For all Suns fans, and that is me included, Shaq is the first legitimate Center/BIG MAN, the Suns have EVER had.

He is by far, the largest bonafide superstar the Suns have ever acquired via trade, draft or free agency.  And yes, it’s a bigger move than acquiring Sir Round Mound of rebound himself, Chucky “Please mix in a salad” Barkley.

He brings more hope and potential than the 1992-1993 Suns, since he is a person that has won 4 NBA Titles.  There was nobody on that 1992-93 team that had ever gone down that road or experienced what it takes to win it all.

He will bring a confidence and swagger that this team needs, in order to go against the Spurs, if they get that far.  He will have his point guards back, instead of having teammates that back-off when the going gets tough.

But more importantly, Amare will be free to be the player he is cut out to be.  It’s tough to make a wide receiver a linebacker, or a pitcher a catcher, or a goalie a figure skater.  Some big guys just don’t have the biggness in them.  And, that’s OK.  Thank God the Suns organization FINALLY realized Amare is a power forward in a big guys body.

 Let the fun and Sun shine on this classy organization just one time before I go to the great football field in the sky. 

Put your seat belt on and have your hands at 10 and 2.  This diesel has some power behind it.
