No surprise for most of the football world, the Patriots are in the Super Bowl. It’s now their game not to lose. But their next victims are the NY Giants and who would have predicted them?! Early lines are between -13-14 1/2. Again, take the points! The Patriots have won each of their last three Super Bowls by three points each. The Pats are going to be so worried about the undefeated season (19-0) that they will do everything possible just to get the win. The Giants have nothing to lose. They are just happen to be in Arizona.
G-Men: Final Score New York Giants 23 Green Bay Packers 20
I thought fate was going to be on the side of the Packers. After the Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes missed not one but two field goals and the Pack won the toss in overtime, I thought for sure the Pack and the Bikini chicks were coming to Arizona.
But, NY’s Corey Webster’s interception of a struggling Brett Favre in overtime, gave Tynes yet another shot. He nailed the 47-yarder on his third attempt to win it, then sprinted directly to the locker room as the rest of his frozen teammates celebrated on the field.
So get ready for another two weeks of talking about a Manning. As well as Arizona get ready for a ton of media types for the Northeast flooding the valley. Oh crap!
Patriots: Final Score Patriots 21 Chargers 12
This game was soooo boring. You felt like the Patriots were going to eventually turn it on, and blow out the depleted Bolts, but that never happened. Tom Brady did not have one of his MVP like games as he was intercepted three times including once in the redzone. However, as they have done over the past month, they did what they needed too -win the game.
I do give the Chargers a lot of credit on their season. They had an incredibly slow start, but managed to get hot at the right time.
Again, a quiet Randy Moss for the second straight game. I have a feeling he is going to have a HUGE Super Bowl and be named the MVP unless of course they have to give to Tom Brady.
I am looking forward to a close and personal lpeak at Brady’s lady Gisele Bundchen.
So get ready for the Patriot nation - fourth Super Bowl in seven seasons -a true dynasty for the 21st century.
And for all the 1972 Dolphin fans, get ready for some company in your neighborhood.
Finally, I am really bummed it’s not the Pack and Pats. I now have really no interest in watching the game other than the chance to see history. Pack/Pats or Cowboys/Pats would have been so much better. As an Eagles fan, I dislike everything about the Giants! And now I have to read and hear G.I.A.N.T.S.! Giants!! Giants!! chants for two weeks…Damn!
