Roc and Manuch Worldwide!!! WOW!

Is it too early to start talking draft?   Never!  For Arizona Cardinal fans it’s normally in October, but this past season it was stretched into December…Well, it’s now January and time to talk draft for the Birds…

Personally, I would like to see them get some help in secondary and on the defensive line.  I would hope they can secure a star linebacker somewhere high in the draft…You can never have enough help on the offensive line and that is an area which has troubled the Cardinals for years…I’m done with Edgerin James, granted he mowed down some yards but he isn’t going to win games for you…He is scheduled to make $5 million this season…Let him go and find a hungry kid low in the draft or hit the free agent market…Oh yah, a punter!

By the way, I can’t remember the last time the Cardinals were not selecting in the top 10!

Damn, that means I’ve have to sit around for another hour or two waiting for their weak selection!

2008 NFL Mock Draft

Updated 01/16
1. Miami needs to rebuild this team in a big way. Parcells will attempt to move down and acquire additional picks. If he can’t move down, he will start rebuilding the d-line with the most dominating lineman in the draft.
2. Scott Linehan and Jim Haslett will debate between Jake Long, OL Mich, and Chris Long. In the end, the need for an impact defensive player wins out and the Rams will take Howie’s kid.
3. This pick could easily change once a coach is hired. The Falcons are in full rebuilding mode and need to start with a franchise QB. Ryan is the best of a solid group.
4. This is not the Raiders’ most glaring need but Al Davis loves to take the big name. JaMarcus Russell and McFadden will make a great 1-2 punch for a long time.
5. The Chiefs can’t get to the podium fast enough. The offensive line is their most glaring need, and Long has the ability to be great a contributor for a long time.
6. Gholston is exactly what the doctor ordered for the Jets. He should be able to stand up and play the OLB position in the Jets 3-4 scheme. He will bring pressure to opposing QBs, which was something missing this year for the Jets.
7. This may be a little high for Talib, but the Pats have to start planning to replace Asaunte Samuel. Talib is a good CB that could climb to this position with a great combine.
8. With Jason Garrett the most likely candidate to replace Brian Billick, we assume the Ravens will go offense. Garrett will look for a guy that can be his Tony Romo. Brohm should flourish in Garrett’s system and finally settle the QB issues in Baltimore.
9. The Bengals need defensive help, and Ellis is the best player available. He is a nice start to a big rebuilding project on “D.”
10. The Saints are fine on offense but need to get some help in the secondary. Phillips is a kid who plays with attitude and should have an impact early. If there is a CB that stands out in the combines, he would be an option as well.
11. Buffalo was a few plays away from being one of the great stories in 2007. The team would love to upgrade its #2 WR here, but it is a little early for any of those guys. Rivers upgrades the LB corps and brings a winning attitude. He should help get this team over the top.
12. With the retirement of LT Matt Lepsis, Mike Shanahan is forced to address his offensive line. Clady is widely considered the second best OT in a great class. He should be a standout in the Denver system.
13. The real need here is an impact safety, but with Phillips off the board, there isn’t one that warrants consideration this early. The Panthers will instead get some pass rushing help to take pressure off Julius Peppers.
14. The Bears QBs have struggled for years, and now it is time to get a franchise guy. McNabb is staying in Philly, so that leaves only the draft to address the issue. Woodson is a nice drop-back passer that should be a good NFL QB for a long time.
15. The defense is a mess, but the Lions have to protect their QB. Kitna spent as much time on his back this season as he did looking downfield. Baker is great value here.
16. The Cards could go several directions here, but we suspect they will upgrade the DE position. Campbell is a big, strong DE that will help the pass rush immediately.
17. Adrian Peterson needs some help, and Jackson might just be the guy. He has the potential to be a true #1 option and a great return man. Tarvaris Jackson will love this pick.
18. The Texans played about 7 different RBs this year and need some stability in the backfield. Stewart will provide just that with his great size and speed. The Texans may be a team to watch in 2008.
19. Donovan McNabb wants more weapons, and he gets one here. Kelly and Kevin Curtis should form a nice 1-2 punch for the Eagles.
20. Tampa Bay may consider adding a young QB to groom for the future. In the end, it will go with Otah and solidify that offensive line.
21. The Redskins have a few holes but none more glaring than the need for a receiver taller than 5′10″. Bowman is 6′4″ and should complement Moss and Randle El nicely.
22. This guy has top 10 ability but falls to the Cowboys here. The Cowboys corners are a bit overrated, but Jenkins will help make them one of the best groups in the NFL.
23. The Steelers Offensive line will be torn apart by free agency. Pittsburgh starts the rebuilding process with a 6′7″ 325 lb standout from BC.
24. Vince Young needs someone to catch the ball, and Manningham is that guy. Mario has a huge upside and is a good value here.
25. Oher has the most upside of the stud offensive lineman. Oher also has the ability to play inside until Walter Jones retires and can then take over at LT.
26. Stroud and Henderson are getting older, and the Jaguars will decide it is time to add a young tackle to the rotation. Teams will have a hell of a time running against that front.
27. T.O. and Terry Glenn are aging, and Patrick Crayton is a nice piece but not a star. Doucet is the future of the Cowboys receiving corps.
28. Mike Martz is now in SF and will push for help in the receiving corps. Hardy has the chance to be the best receiver out of this year’s crop.
29. The Giants can use more playmakers on defense. Conner is the best defensive player available and a great value here.
30. The defensive ends are great, and Okam will help plug the middle. Okam will be a stud run stopper for the next 12 years.
31. The Packers have two great CBs, but they are not getting any younger. Cason will play in the nickel and learn from two of the best.

32. Patriots forfeit!
